Once Christian Mansell tasted his first FIA Formula 3® points last season, his appetite only increased for more – and he finished 2023 with momentum, recognition of his achievements, a new team and a sample of what might be in his future.
After finishing in the points three times in the first half of last year, Mansell scored seven times in the final nine races to finish 12th overall, his charge from 23rd to second in Belgium earning him the Dallara Award for Best Comeback of the Year.
The season was long finished by December, but the news got better still; Mansell’s move to ART was announced just after he’d completed the F2® post-season Abu Dhabi test with Trident.
ART’s F3/GP3 history is littered with drivers who’ve kicked on – George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon are title-winning alumni – so it’s a big, big opportunity for Mansell in 2024.
